NEW YORK - Rebecca Minkoff may seem silly when she participates in fun YouTube videos with pals Leandra Medine from The Man Repeller and American model Hilary Rhoda, but she gets down to business when it's time for her actual show. Her New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 spoke volumes, using her signature delicate fabrics, albeit with a tomboy twist. Minkoff always goes for a younger girl's vibe, perhaps best represented by the youthful baby face look of Codie Young as the opening model but there's a reason for everything she's doing from the boho chic florals to the white pants. Minkoff says she was inspired by photos from American photographer Slim Aarons, who captured socialites in the 1960s. Models were structured and tomboy, but there was something very jet set about every jacket and every vest.
