NEW YORK - FashionTV is behind the scenes at Tommy Hilfiger's menswear collection showcasing at the Maritime Hotel in New York City during New York Fashion Week. "I think it's evolution of the classics," the designer says of his Spring/Summer 2013 collection, "I think it's taking preppy always to a new level." The collection is called Prep Club paying homage to cricket, yachting, rowing, regatta, and racing.
Tommy Hilfiger is an American sportswear meets prep designer and his menswear collections always follow suit. Spring/Summer 2013 was no exception as signature Tommy motifs like nautical stripes, luxe uniforms, and crisp prepster blazers once again made their way down the runway. The differences in this collection stem from the preppy meets safari vibe, which Hilfiger himself says was part of some of his first Tommy Hilfiger collections back in 1985.
